Vegas was all and much more than I had expected.  the vastness and the drop dead silence standing alone (if you don't count the TONS of campers passing me by) was absolutely deafening!  I cried when around the bend in the road at the entrance to Death Valley there was a HUGE lake bed white with salt deposits.  The ride to Tahoe was absolutely amazing.  To go from such a hot climmate to a most amazingly radical  temperature change was hard to believe!

I was amazed, stounded and speechless to say the least.

Hello everyone  Well, if everything goes according to plwn ai will be in Las Vegas this Monday.  I have been crafting ALOT as of late and I wantd to let you know I I opened an 'etsy'  store to sell my work   The name of the storefront is liquidideasonpqper or it can be found listed under my name Tammy Rothwell.

I am not asking a lot for my pieces, the revenue will be used to purchase art materials.  I consider doing what I do to be therapeutic and it is certainly relaxing.

You are probably wondering it is I 'make', well I could (I guess) be considered a multimedia artist as I enjoy combining different 'things'.  I work a lot with cardboard and inks.

I hope you will take the time to "shop' in (pardon the pun) and take a look!

Ok, so no one seems interested in my rantings and advice on make up.  I do not care, I am going to pretend I have an audience of people who are interested in the bauty if simply being a woman. It just so happens I  am that sort (as Pooh would say).

So, what to talk about?  Beats me I guess I could start oth my morning routine.
I get up around 5-5:30 AM everyday, pick out my clothes  shower, do my hair, appldy makeup strategically trying not to get mascara all over me (HA!) then check the temperature.  Lately it has done nothing but SNOW and BLOW here on the shores of Lake Erie.  I then make morning coffee (I love Tm Horton's coffee with sugar and dark chocolate) and finally decide what to do to stay busy while I am 'land locked' in my house because it is 3 degrees F outside.

Hi there beautiful and lovely people!  Merry Christmas to all of you.  I'm just wondering what I should blog about and I thought I would try to include a video of my new hair style I call the 'Tude" basically because it is a running joke my hair dresser and I have  Elaine (who styles my hair), told me that it takes an artsy gal with  certain kind of personality and  'attitude' to wear her hair this way.  Well, I said what the heck, why don't I go bolder with color AND cut.  I did and I absolutely LOVE it!
I have to admit it took just a bit of getting used to since it has been roughly5 years since I styled my hair differently other than a never ending palette of different hair coloring fazes/

Thursday, November 14, 2013

OMG!  I am going to (after 15 or so years), change my hairstyle and REALLY change the color.  This all came about because I was sittiing in my hairdressers place and she was doing a 'regular' and it hit me.  The women ALWAYS play it safeand ask for the same thing (Please understand, I see nothing wrong with this they feel comfortable with things not changing.  Well, I had to get my hair cut and eventually dyed anyway SO I also happened to have the latest short hair style book in my lap.
Long story short...I found an asymmetrical cut I absolutely LOVE!!
I have never tried doing that before and I can't wait!!!

Sunday, October 6, 2013

Well, I am back.   Sorry it has been so long.  Some of you know (if you keep up with my blog(s)) that I returned to college (retaking a painting and drawing class I took for credit back in 1989 when I graduated with a BA in English)..  This has sucked up ALOT of the time I used to allow for my senseless jibberty jab about such silly things such as make up and writing.

Needless to say I HAVE MISSED YOU!!!  My goodness, what would I do without my loveable cyber buddies?  Actually there was a brand new ULTA store opening in a neighboring state which was AMAZING (I was the first person in the door on their first day) which turned out NOTT to be the grand opening (BUMMER!)  BUT>>>>The following Friday was and of course I was one of the first 100 customers.  I received as a free gift a complimentary gel manicure which I am having done on the 10th of October.  I can't wait, it says it is a $35 value.

Yes, I admit I spent too much money on eye shadow palettes.  But you don't understand the colors (see attached photos) the colors are absolutely FIERCE!  That is my new favorite and often used word these days.  Truly they are the most pigmented colors I have yet to see.

This is the besest brush for applying bronzer I have ever found.  Trust me, you need one!  Next to it are the four (Yes, that would be four - so I had  to cut corners severely) I purchased and I do not regret at all.  Below is a shot of the luscious colors held secretely within,

The only problem I have is which one I want to use as they are all so beautiful.  Al I know is I am pretty sure I wear too much make up for someone my age,  I have something to confess I can't seem to find the right color or tone for my skin as I have two tones going on, SO I have been mixing (layering) 5 different foundations on top of each other to get the right blend and I believe I have finally found the right mixture and the correct order in which oo apply them

Anyway, I have been FORCING myself to get back into art journaling, which I have been successful at thus far.   A few of my attempts are on facebook for your amusement or enjoyment.  I honestly don't know how I got all of my work done when I was a actual 'student' way back then since I have gotten older, that campus sure does seem as thogh they have added more stairs to the art building, thank God there is an elevator!

Okay, so absoltely nothng is new with me except I am going back to college to take an art course and I am very excited about it.  I have been too busy lately running around getting the parking permit, signatures, and art materials that I m missing from the first time I took this course (yes, I took it almost 30 YEARS ago! and retaking it just for fun!).  I am an alumni of this college and I have been wanting to do this for quite ssome time and I figured this is my birthday gift to myslf, the gift of knowledge.  Next to the gift of travel I think it is the best!

We have to choose either oils or acrylics.  With all this spare time I have, I thought I would try and do both.  I know, what am I nuts?  I will say one thing art materials have tripledin price!!!  OMG!!!  Thankfully I still had all the art supplies I had when I first took the same art courses.  I counted the pain brushes I have maanaged to accunulate over all the art courses I have akken and quit counting when I reached 100.

The only thing I can't seem to find is the specific paper the course syllabus is calling for.  This is going to have to wait until I can get  to the campus bookstore.  Why am I telling you this?  I guess because I am bored and feel like sharing my insignigficant world with you.

BTW, I am going to Ulta and I will have new things to blog about when I return from my vacation.

I haven't forgotten you, my little chickadees  I have been busily re-accessing my life's goals and have decided to go back to college!  I still can't believe I am going to (granted I took the course 20 years ago) take art 105, the very beginning art class again this time with a different professor.  I am sure I'll learn a lot of new thing and I am looking forward to it.

Yes, I intend on keeping my Blue Eyes Beauty blog and Youtube channel.  I don't know what to do about the style of 'face' I will wear, but I will keep my mind open to this new challenge.  I have been considering doing a vlog during my commute and/or my classroom. I am not sure yet, but will let you know ASAP!

BTW, Wet and Wild has a new fall blush out and the CVS in my own had one on the shelf AND it was broken!  AARRGGHHH!!!  It was the color I have been desperately searching for and they wouldn't even sell it to me as damaged goods, the jerk!  Now I hhave to find someone somewhere who has this color.  Maybe Walmart will have it (I hope).

I have been wearing falsies (eyelashes) off and on and I 'think' I'm getting better at it, but I won't give up yet.  I don't want you to give up on whatever you might be having problems with.  I fnallly discovered the right technique for applying foundation with the right coverage for me.  It is made up of a combination of five different foundations I build up in layers and set with loose translucent powder.  I really how flawless it looks.

I have also gotten a better handle on sculpting and contouring my face with the wet and wild 'Bikini Contest' bronzer.  Other than that, not much else t report.

until next time, sweet dreams my little angels

My thoughts on turning 50 (dear God I cannot believe I said that!)

It is not so much the fact that that is one half of a hundred, but the fact is I am facing a dilemma.  There are SO MANY choices and I feel as though I don't have enough time to finish all of them!

Case in point.  I have a s^&^t load of make up and how do I use every single color at least once?  I guess the answer to this is change my make up 'face' at least three times a day or admire them in their respective containers.  I have swatched just about everyone of them and I am in love with them all.  Maybe I should tell you what I am love, love, loving at the moment.  Ok, that sounds reasonable to me so let's do that.

First I apply Garnier's  Moisture Rescue, I find this to be better in the summertime because it a light moisture replenisher compared to the Loreal Age Perfect I use in late summer up until spring (when the weather is cooler).  I live in western New York State where the weather gets pretty damned cold and windy therefore drying my skin more than it already is.

Next is Revlon's Photoready facial primer, then Lancôme's foundation, my color is 'Bisque' and it is absolutely decadent!!!  I just LOVE Lancôme!!!

Next I apply my blush, using Wet 'n Wild's Coloricon bronzer SPF 15 in 'Bikini Contest' as a  contouring color which I use with Maybelline's Fitme in color, 'Deep Wine' and I found that  these two colors blend together REALLY well using my Tarte bronzing brush.

Then I use Lancôme's Bienfait Multi-Vital Eye illuminator on my upper cheek bone  above the blush and also on my brow bone.

Eye shadow, liner, fake lashes come next not in any particular order but usually the lashes come last even though once they are in the right place (which seems like it takes forever) I usually end up re-applying my eye make up.  This eye process takes a long time some days.

Lastly, I whisk on about 3 different shades of plum, brandy  and/or wine lipstick and FINALLY give a fresh 4 spritzes of La Vie Belle  (sic) by Lancôme of course.

And that, in short is my day usually.

Fascinating new way to 'put your face on'!

This simply cannot wait because I never even thought of trying this until I read about it in my first issue of my new Allure magazine I received when I signed up in the Ulta store down the shore.

The magazine article is entitled "One and Only" and what caught my attention was the predominant make up color of a 'wine' tone.  If you didn't guess already, I'm really into wines, purples, dusky roses this season.  Currently I am LOVING Maybelline's 'Deep wine' blush  .

The article says to try using just ONE SHADE of product which I am assuming is lipstick, eye shadow and blush in all 'like' tones with little tonal variation among them  For instance, I have chosen to try using the wine blush as blush, eye shadow and lipstick which (if I understand it correctly) will also be in the same color FAMILY.  So, I have to find eye shadow and lipstick in the same spectrum.  Okay, this can be a bit confusing I know I am a bit confused about this already, but I will use the model as a point of reference).

At least if it looks like sh^t I can always wash it off and start over.

As far as this seasons colors are concerned, I can't wait to see them!  I hope there are some gold tones too with all the other colors.

Mauves are always a nice addition to your make up seasonal 'look'.   Sally Hanseen and elf cosmetics have a few nice mauves available right now.  A combination I am going to try is to pair a deep shimmery bronzer as my contour shade (such as 'Tantakizer' by Lorac.  I am in LOVE, LOVE, LOVE with this product.  It is especially a great mate to the Deep Wine by Maybelline.

I think I have an Estee Lauder lipstick I have had for several years that will go just fine with the whole color scheme.

Along with the above tip, page 98 has a beautiful lipstick called, 'Tangier' that I really like aot!  I really do enjoy making myself lok good, even though in the beginning it took sm getting used to.

BTW, I was just notified that my July ipsy glam bag was in Secaucus, New Jersey this morning which means I should get it tomorrow!  I can't wait!

Ok, so this ewasn't the blog I  had planned, but I had to share the 'beauty' try out of the week (or month that is0.

Grab a copy of Allure and check it out.  There are a lot of useful artiles in it

Until my next blog I wish you all a blissful good night.

What am I going to wear?

I'm sure this has come up in your life  a time or two, and it has now blossomed in my 'world'.  Yes, ladies, I have to decide what to wear this coming week to a crafting class I will be attending.  As far as dressing accordingly to the weather goes - I'm screwed since it has not stopped raining and this has been a lousy 'outdoor do anything' summer.  I am faced with the dilemma of trying to appear 'put together' in the midst of the hellish awful humidity we have been having.

The only thing I have decided in is the pair of sensible purple New Balance sneakers as I have quite a distance to walk in order to get to the classroom with all my stuff.  I definitely will not be sans makeup!

No, this glamorous gal will be sporting an early autumn look.  Maybelline has put out a color (Deep Wine) of blush that I find utterly irresistible!   Check it out, I'm guessing it is part of their Fall collection and if it is, I can't wait to see the rest!  I am going to come up with an 'autumn' loork with purple/blue tones and perhaps a smidge of gold.  I, of course, realize no one gives a crap about what I am wearing, but you know what?  I simply do not care.

Try to do something you think 'others' might think to be 'out of line'', 'out of the norm', just be yourself and go out there and be YOURSELF!  Come on, I practically gave you permission by telling (and showing you) how to apply false eye lashes.  we're a work in progress and I am not about to let you waste your life living with 'what ifs?' and the unforgiveable 'I wish I would haves...'!

Deep breath ladies,  heads held high onward!

Next up on tomorrow's blog post - make up wake up!

Monday, July 8, 2013

Well, life sucks

I wasn't going to blog today, but I thought I would to see if I could lift the veil of depression I find myself in.  I don't know if it is because I am still single , or if it is because I am going to be 50.  I  think it's my age.  I  definately need to go shopping in hopes that this bummy mood will leave me alone!

I have to decide on something, perhaps the new autumn colors are out?  Maybe a new shade of lipstick, manicure?  something - ANYTHNG to get out of this rut1

I guess this blog is about 'how to unstick yourself' or better yet,  'lifting your mood with make up?'  I really am quite undecided about which.  All I can tell you is I a wearing black peddle pushers, a short sleeed cotton top, and my favorite pink Chautauqua shirt I have had forever (seems like it at least).  It is thundering outside and raining.  Definitely shopping weather.

My pink shirt helped lift my spirits a bit.  I am attributing the mood lift to the color.  so I decided on the Color Tattoo by Maybelline in Tenacious teal (lower lash line), Painted Purple (inner upper lid), Lorac Pro Garnet in the crease and outer lid..  For blush I used the Maybelline Deep Wine (my current favorite) and I am really starting to like Maybelline's make up. It seems the fall colors have quite a deep tone of  burgundy with an underlying bluish hue.  At least I detect a bluish base` in their blushes, I haven't seen their lip products yet and am looking forward to it.

I just got home from shopping and I didn't buy any new make up which is ok.  I still have a 20% off total purchase and I'll combine this with my other rewards bucks at CVS and get something really 'sexy'.   Or at least a color that makes me 'feel' sexy.  God, I can't believe I just said that!

I think my next bkog will be on my daily facial routine.  Until tomorrow all you vivacious women out there, have a good evening.

I have the problem fixed (the html code I wrote was incorrect) sorry about that!

I am ok, just a mistake on my part - there is still something wrong so PLEASE don't leave me!

Tomorrow we will continue on our journey to beautiful, desireable women! I just need to figure out what to share with you next since there is so much to discuss.  I was considering self esteem boosters.  A kind woman left  brief comment on my youtube channel as to how I inspired her.  That comment and the other comment from a kind gentleman telling me I was "Looking great1" made my day!

It is truly amazing what a simple thing as a small gesture  such as the above can turn your day around.  Here I was thinking I was never going to be able to get a thumbs up and now I have 2!  I was so (still am) ecstatic over such a simple thing.  I also thought I would never get anymore subscribers and now I have I think 32!  I wonder if I will make I to 40?  I'm not counting on it as I realize my approach to make up is a tiny bit off course for the 'average' beauty guru.

That is omething I feel I have going fo me - I am not a self proclaimed beauty guru.  I am just an ordinary almost 50 year woman who has never felt better irn her life!  I just want to share my experiences with those who might need a bit of encouragement to achieve their innermost beaut goal.

It's as simple as that.  :)

Until tomorrow, I'm going to bed now.   I will 'see' you tomorrow.

I MADE an ERROR!!! Please don't leave me! The HTML code was inccorrect!

***PLEASE OVERLOOK LAST POST**

I messed up on the advertisement settings, I'm frantically trying to fix the problem!11  Oh my!  Please forgive the mayhem.  Thank you for understanding.

Upon my eturn we will pick up where wwe left off.  This blog is very important to me because I know you are beginning to get the 'tude!

Make up from Ulta, Sephora, Revllon, etc.  including more product reviews coming as soon!

Just random thoughts my thoughts onmaking up 'on the go'

-->
Road trippin' in style

I was cleaning my purse out today (because it weighs about 10 lbs.. You see I carry my corner of the world' with me wherever I go.  I have a too big wallet with my credit cards driver's liscense , etc., without forgetting my Ulta beauty card, Sephora card, and my Sally Hansen beauty card along with a bit of cash (just in case), library cards, purse hanger (yes, they have such things and they they are extremely useful), eye drops (because I occasionally suffer from severe keratosis), ipod charging cables and plug, extra medication, a 'beauty' bag and a Ziploc baggie that holds my homemade 'whoopsie' wet towelettes.  Whew! that gets heavy after awhile!

So you see why it's so heavy!  Peek inside my 'beauty bag'.:

Mascara,, lipstick, eye shadow

Blush (that could do double duty as an eye shadow in a pinch, or even a bronzer! :) )

Homemade whoopsie towelettes

Now, the 'beauty bag' is what we are zeroing in on.  I carry it with me 'just in case' I should need/want to freshen up or if I should spend a night away from home I rest assured my 'emergency beauty bag' will get me through whatever situations arise!  so, I now travel with much more confidence that I will put m best face forward if the need be
If that isn't bad enough, I also carry a BB cream and a cream concealer.  so, all in all
I could probably handle any sort of make up emergency!  (Have I mentioned I also carry a small tube of eyelash glue and super glue if I am wearing false nails)  Don't get this wrong, please...I am far from stuck up or conceited or God forbid vain.  I just wish to look my best.  Hell, I even wear make up with jeans, I practically live in them, in fact, I wear make up for myself not any other reason.  I feel pretty when I wear make up and I have been through a lot and live by the words, "It could be a LOT worse!'  So, I just continue on, which is what I am trying to help you do.  I may not know what brings you here, but I can a least help you out along your way.

Until my next post (gee, after I didn't think I had anything to blog about) you have a nice day!

Nail polish thoughts

Nail polish

***IMPORTANT**

THIS IS FOR ALL BEAUTY GODDESSES

Before applying nail color stick clear scotch tape around the nail to act like a shield against any accidental oopsies from a wobbly hand (sound familiar).  It will save a lot  of cuss words.

Currently I am typing with my right hand because my left hand is drying its second coat of:'Metal madness'.  See bellow"

Yes, that's exactly what I thought, "My goodness that's bright!"  nnd I even fell in love with it which came in a three pack of nail enamels by elf.  The only con for me personally, is the difficulty in application due to the shape of the brush head.  I found it io be coupled and and awkward.  Everything else about it really good. I also got the other 2 collections with colors such asorange, green, and yellow (by mistake).  They are nice wearable colors, and I do honesly wear them..sometimes all at the same time!  God, I'm bld, brash and  daring!!!  LOL :)

Seriously, there are many brand names of such luscious colors the following are jus a few of them:

In order from left to right are:

Bonder by Orly

Sally Hansen Bus stop crimson
Sallly Hansen Plum's the word
Revlon 69 Sandal wood beige

along with several other companies whose names my be  familiar:

Ellen Tracy in "I have no idea what color I am!"  Actually, I couldn't locate a name.
The next one is the one I am currently wearing and t is by elf in color "Beats the hell outa me" (my comment entirely, not theirs).

Finally we have:

Essie in Chinchill and last but not least Wet and wilds #464 (unknown name)

Now, do you have problems with your polish chipping?  I know I did that is until I acquired a Sally Hansen gel polish salon.  You know what?  I ABSOLUTLEY LOVE, LOVE,  LOVE,  this gadget!!!!  I give it a 10 out of 10 (along with all of Sally Hansen's products)   Their color scale is quite vast and enriched  with pigment that often times one  coat is all you need (I am a 4 coat woman myself in order to better protect my nails).

Shown Zoya (I received in my Ipsy Glam Bag color Julie LOVE IT) and the Sally system.
SH and Zoya are my two favorites as far as nail color goes.

The reason I am mentioning nail polish is that I feel next to  fake (or would it seem more upscale to say 'imitation') lashes, nail polish can make a lot of difference in your self esteem  Do you bite  your nails?  I used to.  It is a dreadful habit and hard to break!  Could you please just stop and think how beautiful your long (even if you are he only one who thinks they are) delicate fingers would be, given proper care and maintenance?  I'm not going to lie to you, in  order to have and retain well groomed nails, one must be conscious as to how you treat them with things such as opening envelpes, popping open a coke can, etc.  Things that we all tend to not notice. that causes wear and tear to the nails themselves, THAT'S the problem!

Never fear my dear!  There are solutions to every (I think) nail issue you might have  First of all, you can be lazy and go to a manicurist and pay an ungodly amount of money OR you OR you and a friend can do your own at  home manicure.

Some of the things you will need are:

Absorbent towels for drying hands and just in case you spill something
Orange stick (Yes, that's the actual name of the wooden cutice pusher backer thingy)
Cuticle remover (optional cuticle cutting tool which I am quite fond of).

***NEWS NOTE***

To protect he skin around the nail when you are panting your nails ;  surround nail bed with clear scotch tape to keep mess at  minimum

Emory boards (both fine a coarse tooth)
Cotton balls and/or cotton pads
Acetone (to take off your polish)
Nail brush to scrub those cuticles!

And finally (in the beginning) about an hour or two of spare ' ME' time.  You have my permission to pamper yourself silly!  Grab some Godiva chocolate, a glass of your favorite wine, turn on the radio.  I really enjoy listening to oldtime radio horror stories.  I know, it's a shock, but I actually enjoy them.

I think I have dumped enough information  on you in one day.  I can promise you this, though.  If you clean up your hands and put (even if it is a very light shade of pink or beige or even nude nail lacquer on your nails with a top coat) I guarantee you will feel like a beautiful princess!

Hugs to all you beautiful women out there.

This is a short after thought about false eye lashes

I noticed tonight after attempting to remove the sticky glue from my lashes and having the result being faced with the untimely demise of them due to the glue not coming off well at all, I resorted to soaking them in full strength Dawn laundry detergent.

Guess what?  It worked like a charm, the glue came off and they were resurrected to live again anther day!  Hurray!

I just thought you needed to know this.

One step to 'instant' pretty!

Fake eye lashes!  You have to try this!

This is probably the quickest way to feel super feminine.  False eye lashes!  I had never tried them before, but I have looked at them over the years and wondered (as most of you probably have as well) what are those like?  After asking 'what would I look like?' or 'I'll probably be laughed at by my significant other/husband, etc.' or God forbid, 'what will the neighbors think!')

Well, I don't know what possessed me to try them, but I did the 'stare and wonder' thing at the dollar store a few days back and ended up purchasing two packs of actual human hair lashes and figured it is now or never!

With my hat of bravery on I ventured into the unknown.  After I got home I sat down to read the instructions.  Yes, I thought it would be more difficult too, that is until I (after about 2 hours ROTFL) I emerged triumphantly wearing my new 'hat' of fierceness!  Whoever makes Ardelle lashes, THANK YOU!

I was a transformed woman!  Those lashes worked their magic on me and to be honest I won't leave the house without them!  One thing I must note, however, plan on screwing it up a lot before you get it right and use an eye liner to mask the eye lash band) and if you can, apply all make up BEFORE applying the eye lashes.  With hands shaking I managed quite well in my application of the  luxuriously curled black feminine icing.

I felt taller, prettier, more feminine and I (dare I say this?)  felt more seductive!  If this does this for me I thought I should let you know - YOU ARE MISSING OUT!!!

I suggest trying the dollar store brands first because they are fairly cheap and if you mess up (which  you will) you can afford 3 or 4 pair of varying thicknesses to see whatYO think fits the best.  I went all out as usual and love the results.

Goo out and try this, it'll be our little secret ;)

***CONTENT ALERT***

Maybe I should let all you beautiful ladies know, this blog is very laid back in its approach to make up and how to decide what to do with it.  I wanted to approach this topic in a more relaxed and devil may care way so as not to intimidate you with all of this information.   I, personally, remember being handed a class booklet in home ec class  on 'how to put on make up' when I was a junior way back in high school (over 30 years since then) and it was not smooth sailing for me let me tell you!  It scared the crap out of me including intimidate me!  BTW :  IT DIDN'T HELP ME AT ALL!!!   The information was as helpful as the little 'talk' we had during gym class about our bodies changing.  Dear God I hated that!

I am just trying to show you there is method behind my means here.

Next blog topic I haven't decided on yet, please stay tuned!
